A healthy smile is more than just cosmetic

Studies indicate that the oral health of your teeth and gums can indicate the status of all your health in general. Bad dental hygiene has been coupled with a high risk of certain diseases in adults. Some people such as diabetics and pregnant women are at greater risk of developing the disease in the gums. (Read about "Diabetes" "Healthy Pregnancy")

In children, the problem is just as serious. The American Dental Association (ADA acronym in Spanish) indicates that when a child has serious tooth decay, can affect all their health and lead to problems when eating, talking and even causing absence from school. You can read more about ways to avoid problems in oral hygiene (Read about "Oral Hygiene") or continue down to the homes of other oral health topics.
