All Known Factors That Causes Receding Gums

Numerous factors are known to be causing receding gums and this can include brushing too hard, smoking, oral piercing, mouth injuries or trauma, misaligned, gapped or crooked teeth and periodontal disease.  The disease in the gums is referred to as the infection or inflammation of the gums, bones and tissues that anchors the teeth to the jaw. It is true that receding gums are usually the symptoms of periodontal disease.  People who have naturally thin gums are prone and subject to gum recession. And age can also contribute to increase in receding gums which is normally undergone by older people. Dental examination, x-rays, dental history and family medical history are needed to diagnose the cause of gum recession.
